Black Sunday

I tried to watch this movie for a week . I can recommend it as a sleep aid, to be certain. It’s about a 200 year old witch trying to come back to life by tricking a very dumb man to sacarfice a few people to her. She needs to drink the blood of a young woman to come back. It doesn’t end up being as exciting as it sounds. We have a lot of drawn out talking scenes that don’t go anywhere.
The first scene is pretty awesome. In the 1600 our witch and her buddy getting killed by some villagers. She puts a curse on the one of them that is her brother and all of his family members. In the 1800’s she comes back, sort of. Continuity and vampire rules are all over the place here. Sometimes she is a witch, sometimes she is a vampire. But in the end it ends up being really boring. There is a warning for graphic violence in the begin but it doesn’t pay off. If you like redundant dialogue, you will love this movie. This could have honestly been an hour shorter than it was.
Black Sunday has the same look and acting as a lot of 60’s Roger Corman horror movies. Black Sunday isn’t nearly as good as most of them. I’ve said it before and I will say it again, I like really good movies, I like really bad movies, but I can’t stand boring movies that leave no impression with me. That is Black Sunday.
